Forgotten

Maybe I've forgotten

All the things I should have known

Maybe I neglected them

So long ago

Verse 1

Staring out the window

Taking in one perfect day

It’s my town

Looks like nothing here has changed

Still can’t find my way

Verse 2

Headlights blazing a trail

Happy faces gathered ‘round

All the ladies are shining

Like somethings going on

Cause I’ve come back today

Chorus 1

But maybe I’ve forgotten

All the things I should have known

Maybe I’ve neglected them

Living so far from home

Verse 3

This old house still somehow stands

Near the bridge scarred with our names

But those deep waters

Have turned to sand

Since I’ve been away

Verse 4

I thank God for this dark sky

Hiding the lines that mark my face

And thank you for your loving arms

Giving more than I can take

Chorus 2

Maybe I’ve forgotten

All the things I should have know

Maybe I neglected them

So long ago

Bridge

And I’m not often

Who I thought I’d be

Or quite what you deserve

Chorus 3

Maybe I’ve forgotten

All the things I should have known

Maybe I’ve neglected them

So long ago

Chorus 4

Maybe I’ve forgotten

All the love that you have shown

Maybe I buried it away

Maybe I’ve forgotten
